Traditionalby whiteroomComment by faery: A really well-composed shot. I like the squared-off format with subject balanced in the middle. I also like her downward focus..at first I wondered if it would have been more effective having her look at the camera, but then I decided that the picture speaks more with her looking down...kind of being led to wonder what she's thinking...if that makes sense. The beads on the hat are a bit over-exposed and have lost some definition. 8. |

Cool Watersby whiteroomComment by MacDonald: Pelicans are such strange looking birds and I really enjoy watching them... nice colors, esp the greens... good reflection. |

Cool Watersby whiteroomComment by tnun: Some very nice things happening with the leaf reflections in the background, and the pelican(?) is nicely situated. Would be nice if the bright green verticals above his head and below the curve of his neck where edited out plus the round blob thing and the unfocused bright vertical. Unusual to get such a pleasing background for a stately subject. (The thumbnail gives no indication of the richness of this picture). |
