Trichiuridaeby instepsComment by Melethia: One of my favorites. The photo, not the fish. I'm not even sure what kind of fish they are, but the photo is most excellent! |

Improvisationby instepsComment by tanguera: How can anyone miss this brilliant score? It's a Broadway musical; a symphony, a cacophony, angels laughing. Seriously. Congrats on the blue. |

Improvisationby instepsComment by Melethia: A very well deserved blue - congratulations! This should be printed on canvas, large. Great textures, depth, and yes, rhythm. |

Improvisationby instepsComment by mcaldo: When I saw this one I thought of the typical improvisational devices of jazz music. Repetition with variations, entering and leaving phrases not from the start but from the end and backwards, or somewhere in the middle, shortening and dilating the same phrase. Which is big part of the concept of exploration in so many genres. Django Reinhardt used to play the same note in sequences for whole measures, each note different as for dynamic and timbre, a one note melody.
With this image, I feel, you have illustrated the main points of a improvisation theory text book, in one frame and 1/60 of second.
Postprocessing is really good indeed, I was hoping that would help score-wise, but perhaps it doesn't matter.
Thanks for that, these are hard to come by, here and elsewhere. |

Trichiuridaeby instepsComment by spiritualspatula: My second highest vote. I really just like the great contrast here. It's a great study in tones, with the dead little fish staring blankly back at us. Very good. |

Trichiuridaeby instepsComment by LoVi: Beautiful! Love everything about this. Composition, contrast, line up of the position of the fishies' eyes, the dark scratches on their silvery bodies, the cellophane(?) or plastic under them on top of the tray. Super! Best in the bunch. |
