I have been lucky enought to have visited SF and this exact place. I know how difficult it is to make a great shot because the architecture is of truly grand proportions. Just trying to fit it into the frame is difficult.

I think you may have faired better with an abstract view showing part of the structure. Presented in this way its a bit central, straight down the middle and becomes just a bit predictable. The sky is totally blown out because of the difficult contrast levels. All of which makes me feel an abstract view would have faired better.

Still an impressive piece of "real" architecture, well done.

Excellent positioning. Nice texture on thewater. A tad less exposure might have given some more color gradation around tower. Actually, I like this picture more when I desaturate the yellow to -40. The effect is still there but there is more color gradation. An 8.

I've looked at this photograph about 5-6 times before finally voting and commenting. I like it and think it meets the challenge. And I know that white is a color, too. But it does appear too blown-out here. It detracts from an otherwise wonderful photograph. Hope this is helpful. :)

Ahh..now this is excellent ! Brings back memories of my SF journey some years ago. And I enjoy the contrast of old and new/ stylised versus modern.
