I don't remember seeing a beetle feeding like this - interesting. Your shot suffers from poor focus though, so I'd stop down to around f8 and decrease your shutter speed. If you then focus on the back of the flower you would achieve a much deeper depth of field.

Why did you chose to be so far from the subject? Is the subject the field or the person in it? This shot also screams for Flash fill. With the light location and the distance from your subject this shot has a snapshot feel to it, even though I feel you were trying for a nice portrait in the field. Get in closer and reflect some light back into her face, and I think you'll be pleased with the results.

A very dramatic and well-done photo. I'll blame the poor score on voters wanting to see landscapes. If the challenge was Henri Cartier-Bresson this should have done well, because it certainly captures the "decisive moment". It needs some sharpening, especially after using Neat Image.
