Single people in the fieldby NunoComment by Strikeslip: IMO, this needs to be cropped in a bit so the subject is easier to see. You should try to use the rule of thirds to place the subject. I'd get her head aabove the horizon by squating down further to take the photo. Also, try using a wide aperture (low f/stop) to tighten up the depth of focus so those trees in the background will be blurry & not distract the viewer. |

Single people in the fieldby NunoComment by BeingClever: I like this very simple setup. To improve it I think I would have tried moving the subject down the hill to the left so that she was in the first third of the shot and sky was the only background behind her. She would have stood out more. Also this is a fairly soft shot, maybe a little bit more focus on the face would have made her pop. |

fofinha_flowers.jpgby NunoComment by Artyste: These are all lacking a certain kind of lighting that brings more dynamic color out. They're nice shots, but just seem a little flat to me. As for hints and tips, I don't really have many. I tend to just shoot from my heart, and let the camera guide me most of the time. I like to try and shoot my subject in the shade, or indoors, on a sunny day, where I can have the sun play the subject through an open door, or a window, or from the side, and I always shoot at a -1 EV. Other than that, the old stand-by always works.. practice, practice, practice. |
