Clioby redmoonComment by Kavey: I have searched through the challenge for those entries where the negative space is more than just a plain black or white backdrop because, whilst I think that technique often makes for some really strong and high impact images, I̢۪m particularly drawn to entries where the negative space is relevant to the subject itself and actually contributes to the impact of the picture in a contextual as well as purely compositional way.
Whilst not the kind of image I’d necessarily hang on my wall this works really well on an emotional level – it makes me feel slightly lonely, wary of walking into an empty car park on my own and yet more confident that there are less spaces for a malevolent person to be hiding – and it’s also quite a quirky portrait of life today – overtime, urban spaces, modern lifeâ€Â¦ |
