I like the soft incandescent light cast on the subject. The composition is done very well with the objects consecutively leading me through the shot. (Light, persons face, book, blurred sculpture) Black and white is always a nice choice. I think there is descent contrast here. A few things that may be conceived as needing improvement are the noise and lack of detail/sharpness on the persons face. I like it overall.

There is no tree branch that disappears under the doors. I think you're mistaking a crack in the wood floor for a tree branch. I'm not sure what you mean the light having "no logic to it". This was shot in morning light, the sun was coming from the photos upper right and was filtered by trees and the remains of other parts of the building.

Love the scene, colors are a bit too saturated for me which is funny because my own is over the top LOL I find the bright orange and the yellow green particularly distracting. Voted earlier; back to comment.
