Beauty is a subjective thing, I know. In my scoring and comments I'm trying to score based on NOT whether or not I would think a particular subject beautiful, but on whether the photographer has succeeded in creating a beautiful photo. I look for the elements of color, lines, focus and dof interest, lighting, and a certain element of grace and lovlieness. I'm looking for a unique and creative appeal for the highest scorers. (This is what I'm putting at the start of all of my comments, and I hope it is helpful.)

That being said, probably my first thought was that I wished this had more of a portrait orientation to sort of follow the movement of the water. It feel crowded at the top of the frame over the water. I really like the subject, the lighting, exposure and good focus and stop action. The tones, eh. I'm not sure on that one. Fits the challenge well.

Maybe I'm crazy, but at the top it looks like a horse is coming out of the water, with it's mane flowing back. Very cool capture.

Very striking. I love the light outline of the water and how it contrasts with the diagonal lines of the sky. Good choise of colour too. I feel however that the high contrast of the photo hides some of the beauty.
