The Longing for a Greenhouseby TallblokeComment by MrsFuzzButt: Well, I gave you a three. Seeing only one plant in there I hd no idea this was a greenhouse first off. I thought it was perhaps a screened in porch. The title added to my conclusion. The foreground is very distracting as are the blurry gold streaks reaching into the sky (most noticeabel on the left). Lastly, it just doesn't have a strong feeling of adulthood. |

The Longing for a Greenhouseby TallblokeComment by CEJ: Compositionally the shot is very busy. The grass that is in the foreground and blurred is very distracting. The light behind the structure is too bright and blown out on the left. With the blurry foreground grasses the rest of the shot looks out of focus as well. There is no real center of focus or anything to get your attention.
For the challenge - there is little, if anything, here that ties it to the challenge. The things you pointed out in your post - peering over a wall, etc. I don't get from this at all. Message edited by author 2005-12-05 08:23:41. |

The Longing for a Greenhouseby TallblokeComment by deapee: hrmm, I think it's a matter of composition and lighting that affected your overall score. It was a great idea, I just think you may not have spent enough time thinking about the outcome as you looked through the viewfinder...sometimes you got to wait for the light to be right. |

Autumn Sunby TallblokeComment by Kivet: A little more contrast may have worked better. It looks almost too lightened. You loose the sharpness of the thistles and to me it looks like there is a film over the pic. |

Autumn Sunby TallblokeComment by madison461: Oh, this would be lovely framed and hanging on the wall! My favorite part of this shot is the backlighting. Nice job! |
