Interesting - very medusan albeit without the dire consequences. I think I would like to see part of either the left or right cropped out, like there's almost too much negative space - but that's just me.

Comment by ShorterThanJesus:
I find the outside too bright and the inside too dark (you can't change this, cameras just don't have that kind of dynamic range). I also find the lack of the "rule of thirds" lets my eye lock on to the window too quickly and ignore other possible details.

But despite those concerns, I like this. I can't stop looking at it, appreciating each small detail as it comes in to view (the minimal highlights hinting at an older wood floor are my favourite). I also can't get past the feeling that there is something more in the framing darkness, but at the same point I'm not sure if I want to know what's on the walls as I think the mystery adds to the photo.

I've gone a bit too avant-garde for my own good but I need to say that I like this photo. One could merge multiple exposures, boost contrasts, remove elements, and generally butcher this in photoshop, but this has a charming natural look to it which would be lost.

I like both shots, but I like the placement of the window better in this shot. They are both simple yet interesting.
