i think tank is gorgous, he could be part newf ;) i think this is almost perfect, if not for the over bright background, not to critisize, cause i used to never pay attention to that until i started getting reviews a year ago! since than i have learned a lot! esp with white and black dogs, shooting them on overcast days is best.
do you have a polarizer on your lens? it may help on those days you want to shoot when it is sunny.
otherwise it is a gorgous portrait, and if i were you, i would still enter my pet as portrait!

This is a good shot. I think NI was just a tad overused in this one as the skin doesn't look all that normal. The contrasts are excellent despite the blown highlights in the back.

The zoo is a desolate place for animals. this is a great example ... we know elephants are intelligent and can get depressed - great emotion and texture. A new fave of mine (9).

Definitely meets the challenge and exhibits proper bokeh. The subject matter leaves me wanting (not because it's a flower - I have nothing against flowers - it just lacks a "wow" factor for me). The white reflection in the back is also distracting (damn Basic Editing! I have a similar issue in my entry). Pretty flower - nice focus. Good luck!
