Against a Wallby JutildaComment by dahkota: I actually already voted on this - one of my few. I stopped voting out of sheer aggrevation. My interpretation is different from everyone else's, almost. I really love the tone and texture of this image. Its almost alive and three dimensional. I like oyur title and the framing works for me. But, for me, this is more desolate than desolation. Is there a difference? Well, yes - one is a noun and one is a verb. With it being a verb, its a feeling that can change. With it being a noun, its a state of being. So I have a hard time with people and animals having the state of being of desolation. Does that make sense? It is my own bias - maybe there are animals, people that could be desolation but I haven't found one yet. Make sense? At any rate I gave you a 7 - 3 for technicals and 4 for emotive quality.
If you think your score is low, it could be due to close minded people just like me. :) Bump to 8 due to voting on all images. Added one for challenge topic. |

Against a Wallby JutildaComment by dragonlady: I like this image a lot...the way it is set up with the texture of wall and elephant skin against each other is very good...sepia is great idea. |

Against a Wallby JutildaComment by posthumous: the strange crop disorients the viewer, and the elephant blends into the wall, creating a vertiginous sense of desolation, only compounded by the sepia. 9. |
