Choosing the bird's point of view works well. I don't know if you could have gotten enough DOF to capture the resting animals better, but it would have made a good shot nearly perfect.

	… and I have to rough it on this mo-o-o-o-ost uncomfortable perch! by basia03 Comment by lmhr: if i was to rate the idea alone, this would be a 10. congrats! now the photo: it seems like you used flash because the wires are way to bright; also, in shots like this, try using a wider apperture (+ 5.6) to get the greatest focal distance possible. hope this helps.
