With the light right above the stones you aren't getting the kind of contrast that would make this shot more interesting. Yes, it is very focused and had good DOF, but without having the contrast, it's kind of flat.

Thanks a lot for all the comments! I do appreciate your input. Just a bit of an explanation of a blue tint on the boy's face - it's the reflection of the pool water of course... and yes, i did crop it out from the larger picture... but really, i mean it - thank you.

PS: 2/27/2019 - i always recommend "dpchallenge" to new digital photographers to learn things... looking at this photo now I can see all of the problems with it, but, when I first submitted it and got all of the comments, I didn't even understand all of them... live and learn. thank you again!

Interesting expression and composition. The focus and grain on this one doesn't help though, I don't think. The logo on the shirt also has a bit too much of a presence in this picture.

I like the composition. It's a little too grainy/blurry for me, and there's some odd color shoing up on his right chin area -- I don't know if these are camera-based, intentional/unintentional adjustments, or compression-related.
