Long Winterby basia03Comment by karmat: A little too busy I think. Maybe you could have cropped it higher and used the sky as negative space. |

Long Winterby basia03Comment by e301: Almost abstract quality to this - v cool. Doesn't seem to have re-sized very well though? I think it would have more impact if it was really sharp. |

Long Winterby basia03Comment by nds: Sorry, but IMHO uninteresting. Additionally it could have brought into a sharper focus too. I Hope, that other voters like it more! -3 |

Long Winterby basia03Comment by dsidwell: you have found an interesting pattern here. I wish there were more to look at or to think about. |

Long Winterby basia03Comment by kiwiness: This is a "despair" causing photo for sure. Dreary grey skies and depression! A little bit blurry on the tree though. |

Stormy Weather...by basia03Comment by Natasha: Critique Club
Content-Composition
A bit surprised that this scored under five! I think that your idea is good and "Waldo" is well hidden. Is your friend moving, or is the snow which makes her kind of out of focus? Either way, it is effective. Composition is good, there is a good balance.
Technique
The colours seem a little washed out, was it actually snowing at the time? If so, I can understand the overall fuzziness. Perhaps a little more contrast would have added a bit more imapct and I wonder if a bit more sharpening would help the individual trees stand out.
My opinion
I think that this is a lovely snowy scene, perhaps a bit more detail would be good. You have met the challenge well and taken a lovely picture. Good Luck in the next challenge. |
