Big Bucks!by basia03Comment by ogdenm: There is a major problem here. The range of exposure that you are trying to accomodate is just too much with the result that the shadows are too dark and the highlights too light. Try this. Set up using a tripod. Take an image exposed for the shadows and then one exposed for the highlight. You can then merge the two and you'll have an image that caters for the full dynamic range. |

Big Bucks!by basia03Comment by e301: Love the point of view taken here - like an intruder, almost. think I would have prefered it exposed properly for the house, and leaving the trees in silhouette - that sense of exclusion wouldn't be harmed by that, surely? |

Big Bucks!by basia03Comment by ahaze: Technical: Fits the challenge. Trees are relatively well exposed, but that means your main subject is overexposed. Composition could have been better for the subject. Focus and lighting are difficult because of the composition. Perhaps getting close to the trees and shooting the house "in the clear" would have made this a better shot given the challenge.
Personal: I feel like maybe you didn't want the owner to see you photographing their house! It feels like a snapshot.
