This is so much orange and red, which normally would unappeal to me, but this is interesting, like a martian soil and alien or something.

Think the insect needed to be in focus as well as its shadow. Really bright rust--disturbingly bright. (Just my thoughts.)

Comment by Falc:
For me the spider needs to be more obvious, and/or in focus. I see the shadow, but find it difficult to pick out the spideer itself. Also, that little grass stalk to the left of the spider needs to be removed.

Hey, no fair going to Mars on a photo shoot, and not taking the rest of us! Too bad your Martian spider is not in focus.

The spider seems to be a bit out of focus.

Unfortunately he is out of focus; it would have been a better shot with a larger DOF.

Beautiful ride. I'm wondering where you'd park that would have a wooden floor though..?

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Composition: Interesting composition. I would like to see more of the sky above the mountains, but the size of the picture does give a panoramic type feel. I also think that if you had the windshield showing on both sides it would have been a little more balenced, giving it a symmetrical look.

Technical: One thing that bothers me is how sharp the edge of the windshield is. I think a lot less exposure and a slower shutter could have made a cooler motion blur affect. To bad about the clock being off, not much you could do about that.

Meets the Challenge: check

Overall: Risky shot! Or at least to the viewers. I like how there is a story behind it (traveling at 120 mph). Nice perspective of riding a motorcycle. Good job
