Solomon's Songby LafaminitComment by crabappl3: I love the lighting, although the way it falls on the book looks somewhat unnatural. The composition here is ok, perhaps trying a shot with the book at a 45 degree angle would add a nice design element to it. 8 -danny |

Solomon's Songby LafaminitComment by Imagineer: There's not a lot to hold the attention here. Colours are good and it meets the challenge, but it's just not very appealing to me. It also looks like the Photoshop lighting effect filter has been used, since the arc lies flatly over the undulating pages. |

Solomon's Songby LafaminitComment by dsidwell: Light, more than DOF, helps isolate your subject here. But I do like the warm colors and the moody atmosphere. Lovely work. |

Solomon's Songby LafaminitComment by e301: I'm kind of surprised there weren't more text-based entries for this challenge - it seemed a quite obvious subject to illustrate DOF. Some good stuff here - I love the (presumably torch) light, and the exposure. I do find the positioning of the book in frame a bit arbitrary - gives me an intense desire to turn it, to angle it more into shot, which might allow a more pleasing placement of the important text, perhaps. You seem almost to have cropped more for the light than for the subject, here. But interesting work, nevertheless. A 6 from me. |

Solomon's Songby LafaminitComment by EL-ROI: This is a great Bible shot. A very unusual perspective. The shallow DOF and controlled lighting creat a soft focus effect that I like. Though it's not the contest winner, It is an awesome shot in my ees. |
