Digging for gold in his backyardby steinarComment by grigrigirl: just so you know...im the one who favorited this. I thought this was an excellent newspaper shot...and a great shot in general. Newspapers would not be put off by the lens flare...i dont think. They would love the raw character here. Another reason you cant take voting too seriously. :) |

Digging for gold in his backyardby steinarComment by tomahawx: I can't understand why this didn't get a ribbon. NO. 79? I think people need to get their eyes tested. This pic jumped out at me straight away. The detail is fantastic, I can only assume that the lens flare is what's putting people off but I feel it adds to the picture, especially given the title. |

Digging for gold in his backyardby steinarComment by Glacierwolf: The title and picture match each other perfectly. However, the double lens flare from the sun and water, plus the flare on the person's face wold get most newspaper photographers fired. If you had desaturated the pic it would have helped allot. Now, the grass sticking out the guy's ear........... if this is what pictures in the local newspaper of your town look like....... start sending them to Jay Leno. You'll make a fortune! A very funny shot! |

Digging for gold in his backyardby steinarComment by tony927: I'm assuming you did this with a strobe? Although it's not the most descriptive photo, which I was looking for in this challenge, the portrait-quality image was still enough for me to give it a ten. Good job |
