Concentric Patternby RgarciaComment by BeckyT: Very nice photo. I love the warm tones. The lighting is great because nothing is blown out. This would have been a great fill the frame or centered compostion or even leading lines. Your eyes is drawn to the center. |

Arenal Volcanoby RgarciaComment by Neil: Very nice, and impressive with a small sensor camera. Centered composition is a tough one--it works very well here with the natural framing. Congratulations on your 4th best (mine ended up in exactly the same place on my profile page).

Arenal Volcanoby RgarciaComment by Rgarcia: Thanks to all of you for the comments! I also was hoping for a higher score (6.7) but I'm aware of all the great pictures in this challenge, and that voting was specially rough.
To Terje, thanks for your comment!! It is worth more than any ribbon I could get.
To crayon, please do use your polarizer, the difference is sometimes outstanding.
To everyone that asked for Tabacon, it was remodeled and now is bigger and better than ever!! If you come to CR, make sure to visit it.
For everyone wondering what Tabacon is, it is a resort made around the hot water springs coming from the volcano, the hot water springs are widely used because of the health benefits provided by their mineral content and of course, it´s temperature. Message edited by author 2007-01-26 09:47:24. |

Arenal Volcanoby RgarciaComment by eschelar: I agree with cutter. This deserves better. Maybe a bit of a crop in...
Nice to see Arenal still has its top.
Have they rebuilt Tabacon resort? I heard it was taken out by an eruption shortly after I was there in '96 ish. |

Arenal Volcanoby RgarciaComment by terje: Whoa!! This exactly the shot I wanted when I was over there, lovely place and people in costa rica are so friendly! I envy you this shot, and I hope you get a blue ribbon. It's fantastic!
Good luck, and had I had a chance to give you 12 I would, but unfortunately the good people at DPC only allows me to hand you a mere 10! |

Arenal Volcanoby RgarciaComment by Citadel: I like how you used the foliage in the foreground to frame the subject. The smoke coming from the volcano fits nicely with the existing clouds making it look like it has created a lot of smoke. Very interesting capture! (8) |
