"Fairies" is an excellent addition to the Best of 2002 challenge. This was a tough challenge since many of us were in such different places four years ago.

It is very interesting to think it was that cold in this shot, I would not have never guessed. I really like the glow from between there heads enhancing the wings. Wonderful choice of black and white. The glow gives the girls such a nice look. I think the focus being the in the center is nice and gives a soft flow to the outside edges. The composition is lovely, I don't feel like anything is missing from this piece. Even though the piece is somewhat unreal it looks and feels very natural. This was a great piece and I am so glad that you choose to enter it.

Congratulations on the top thirty it was very well deserved.

I find the angle a little awkward to look at. The photo itself is fine, but as a personal thing, I'd like to see it rotated anti-clockwise 90 degrees. Perhaps it's looking at two eyes, one above the other instead of side-by-side. The eyes, by the way, are wonderfully sharp and really make the shot. I like the framing, too.

8 - Nice setup and capture (or acting (especially of the 'blonde')). Keep wanting to see that ear 'pointed', but perhaps you cloned it out under advanced editing (kidding).

Exceptional quality and tonality. Technical quality is fantastic and the decision having the center brightened works well in this situation. Great job. The boder style does not add greatly to the composition for DPC challenges but is perfect for an image destined for the web. High scoring image, for sure.
