Families are not all "Brady Bunch" or "Ozzie and Harriet" Caucasians with smiles and cookies posed for the annual holiday card. Sometimes it is complicated, perhaps even division, or favoritism. Sometimes you look more like mom, or dad, or the milkman. Sometimes your family is blended here in the United States of America.

Family to me can be represented by these three sisters where one more prominent than the others in a grainy black and white holiday environment.

One of the gentlemen has dementia the other his longtime friend being present. Both wear wedding bands indicating something else (you make your own assessment). Both holding onto something dear to them in the moment taking in an event with others around them. Thanks for the comment and votes.

The challenge was "to make the special relationship of "Best Friends" come through in your photo".
Nothing in this picture expresses that they are best friends. They could be totally unrelated, just sitting next to each other. The title even suggests that this is about one person only.

Nice portrait, deserves a closer crop and some more background blur. But does not convey the idea of family to me. Could be just a stranger in the crowd.
