Fire In Its Bellyby PangurbanComment by chalice: What's not to like about this image? Now if you had only been on board and started photographing the view from there. Still, good marks from me. |

Purple McBainby PangurbanComment by Pangurban: Thank you for the kind comments. Borrowed the fly - and the mirror! And, as far as I know, it hasn't caught anything to date; no fish has been hurt in the creating of this picture :-) |

Purple McBainby PangurbanComment by Cory: Nice fly. Love the gold and yellow together.
I would have liked it better if the mirror / glass wasn't a light violet too, real white would have set this off. |

Coming in to Landby PangurbanComment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club!]
I like your choice of colours and your basic composition is good. The curve of the parasail (sorry if I get the lingo wrong) leads the eye up into the clouds and the rest of the sail guides the eye down to the person in the black sleeping bag :-) They look very comfy!
I feel though that the shot didn't do better, partly to the softness (which may be heat haze) and the lack of dynamism, a sense of action and possible danger - after all it's a bloke or blokette in the sky in a sleeping bag at the mercy of the wind!! Waiting for the actual landing segment may be more worth it. Play around with shooting from different angles. Also, I do agree with Armando that you may want to watch the pp. I see banding in the clouds which may be partly due to the lens but could also be caused by using the sliders a little too much in the pp program you are using. Of course you want the colours to pop, but you also want to ensure you don't get unwanted artifacts either.
All in all, not a bad shot by any means. But do go out there and shoot, a lot, as that's by far the best way to learn.
Hope this critique has been useful. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
