surprised to see this get a brown. I guess the voters are keen to punish "blown highlights" even though they work well for this photo.

then again, it's a high scoring challenge. 4.9 isn't usually a brown.

I enjoyed your image. At first I wanted the guy to be in sharper focus, but it kind of works as it is (a bit soft?) too. I love the kite! Not quite enough of the secondary colors for this to be one of my top choices for the challenge, but a nice and interesting shot.

Complementary colors in an action shot, doesn't get much better than that !

About improvements:
Image looks with little contrast a bit underexposed
Also there is a blue haze around the person, did you edit the sky to make it more blue ?
what software are you using for editing ? if you use Lightroom using automask helps prevent the edits to spill where you do not need it
