Lighting Upby jpochardComment by Tygerr: The fireworks are impressive, but there is not enough in the rest of the shot to make it a great photo. |

Lighting Upby jpochardComment by photokariangel: i've read a few tutorials about fireworks, and to not catch the aftermath of the clouds, you put a black card in front of the lens till it goes away, but you have to use a longer shutter. i tink thats what bothers me most about the image, is the bright cloud. other then that, very nicely composed |

Canyon Viewby jpochardComment by alanfreed: I just stumbled on this shot, and think it's ironic that I have this same shot in my files, twice! I visited this very spot in 1988, and then again this summer. I was comparing my own shots when we got home this year and found that I had taken virtually the same shot on two visits, 20 years apart! I wish we had better weather for our trip this time -- I got shots of this location, and it began pouring for the rest of the day, and it was only around 60 degrees. Bah :) |

Lighting Upby jpochardComment by Nuzzer: Nice fireworks, there is a lot of space at the left that could be cropped out to focus more on the detail in the fireworks |

Lighting Upby jpochardComment by EBJones: Good fireworks capture, but I think I would have preferred a tighter crop. I'm distracted from the main subject by the indistinct buildings on the left. |

Clear Blue 11x14by jpochardComment by jjstager2: So is the trick to achieving such a deep blue sky a small aperture and long shutter speed? Or did you have a filter? Regardless, this is a magnificent shot. |

Morning at 10,000 feetby jpochardComment by jjstager2: Brings back memories. I spent two consecutive summers in a 6 week wilderness school program (1976 & 1977) that was based in the RMNP. I learned to catch and cook those marvelous trout, hike and survive on minimal food and materials. It was an experience I'll never forget and this view really brings it all back to me. Great shot, thanks. |
