I don't know if this has shallow DOF or not. The soft focus/high key effect is not the best choice for this type of challenge IMHO.

what a sweet photo! definitely one that i would keep working on. looks to me like you've clipped the image a little too much when trying to edit out the background. a little more work and this would be great.

Because the background has been removed, there's no way to really tell if this meets the challenge or not. The framing and the cat's expression are interesting, though.

This is an adorable snapshot but leaves me wanting for a more portrait type shot. The cropping seems tight on his head, if the whole head was visible and the way the one arm on the right gets cut off is also a bit distracting, if you could crop that out completely. The background on the right keeps pulling my eyes over there, not sure what it is and it's almost demanding me to figure it out, taking me away from that sweet face. A 4
