One of the best pics of the challenge...Wonderful texture and nice depth of field (although in my opinion, having more of the shoe in focus, either more of the lace area or more of the front tear would increase the texture feel even more?)
But even the bit of ground adds to the gritty feel!

very good rendering of detail and texture. The blown out background in the upper left corner is a big distraction. You might also want to darken the shadows to get more contrast. Midtones are great, though.

I just mentioned in the last picture I voted on that it looked like the boots would fall apart if you touch them from their age but wow, you've even gotten a better one. I like the close up and angled setup you have here. You probably could have shot the entire boot and saw the textures but this and its color adds impact.

I'm really glad I decided to vote on them all - otherwise I would have missed this one as it came up almost last. The use of B&W is excellent - tonal range well done. Like the crop/composition and POV. The DOF works for me. 8 - good luck in the challenge!
