Excellent shot! This is the kind of personal portrait that transcends the need for the viewer to know the subject intimately. The centering works very well here and b+w is good too. I would crop out the tiny portion of the window at the top though - it's much cleaner without it.

I believe that pictures of pets or animals are really hard to do because like people portraits you have to make the viewer care about the suject in order for the shot to be effective. My first reaction was "Ohh - poor Pup" - so you got me there. Besides that factor - great framing and I love the two tone approach here for colors. = 9

Probably my favorite shot in this challenge, but I'm a sucker for animals. Sepia tone works well. A bit overexposed in the grassy area.

the color scheme you have used makes the dog's expression seem so sad, that and the grain in the boards make me think this would have looked better and been less depressing with more color
