Dapper Duckby jenesisComment by justine: Nice one....star filter? Looks great to me. Now what kind of bird it that? I really have NO clue. Very pretty. This whole shot is very good. Neat. |

Dapper Duckby jenesisComment by Paige: Nice shot, good affect with the water stars. I think that having more room in front of him and less behind, even cropping a bit off the rear end would have improved the composition. |

Dapper Duckby jenesisComment by jpochard: It looks like some sort of fantasy shot with those sparkles.. I like the effect, though. |

Dapper Duckby jenesisComment by Glacierwolf: Your 6pt star filter effect is overpowered this picture because there are so many points of light to interact with. In the future to lessen this consider going to a lower f-stop to decrese the effect - best way is bracket you r shots between F2.8 and F5.6 when taking them. Another option is invest in the more expensive Tiffen Holloywood Fx, Hyper Star or Vector Star - these three filters give a great star effect, but, it's not all uniform throughout the picture. I own all of them and prefer the Hyper Star. I use allot of star filters shooting ice art. Hope this helps. |

Clean? Yes ... Happy? Debatableby jenesisComment by jenesis: Thanks to all who commented! It's both helpful and encouraging to me. I know it's not a traditional portrait (being in a bathtub and all) but I think it turned out quite nice. Of course, I'm probably a little biased... :) And BTW, he really enjoys his baths. :)
Here was my other choice (and believe me, it was a hard one) but the one I submitted just seemed technically better. This one was just fun!!
Thanks again,

Clean? Yes ... Happy? Debatableby jenesisComment by tfaust: This is a really good shot... I could see it in a magazine. My only critique is the bright spot at the top of the head and behind reflecting against the tub. Excellent choice of b/w. |
