Who`s afraid of the big, bad, wolf?by geewhyComment by mhoogendyk: I like the overall feeling and composition of this image, but without the title, the figure could be just about anything: a sprite, Hansel running from the woods, a one-legged crow :-), etc. Just the same, its a nice image: mysterious, dark, foreboding, slightly out of focus so you worry about what is out there - and you run from it toward the light. |

Who`s afraid of the big, bad, wolf?by geewhyComment by e301: It's only on my third look at this shot that I've worked out the relevance of having a one-legged person here :-) Sense of mystery quite well done - rare here - though I'm not completely sure it's not over-done. I think having the figure closer might have paid off more - let us see the fear, rather than having to imagine it and work out what's happening. But the setting is ideal - the threatening woods are such a strong part of the darkness of true fairy-tales, and that alone puts this in the top bracket. |
