Sand, Sea and Surfby Bobby-ListonComment by EL-ROI: Getting closer to the rocks would have put them right in the foreground. Why did you desaturate everything but the blue channel? |

The Human Flameby Bobby-ListonComment by CNovack: Voted earlier coming back to comment now.
At both times I have looked at your composition and both times it invokes the idea of what a Polynesian God of Fire would look like. I think it is because of the rich red/brown tones and the deep shadow lines that define the details/lines of the body that reminds of an artist's work in Hawaii who creates scenes of Polynesian culture and mythology by burning images into wood (woodburning art). Then the fire along the arm takes on a tribal tattoo quality. But I think that you were definitely not going for that imagery as that I now noticed a specific detail that I missed because I was looking at the image as a whole. The fiery 4 on the chest now changes my original impressions a tad. This is the Human Torch from the Fantastic Four...but I still can't help from seeing the composition as a Polynesian God of Fire. Nonetheless, the processing and imagery is different, interesting and unique to look upon (going to bump up my vote after more consideration) . |

The Highway Man by Bobby-ListonComment by SEG: I like this image. Higher marks from me if his surroundings would have been much darker or the figure closer. Too much focus is taken away from your main subject by the brightness. |
