This image gets the nod as the most accurate representation of how things actually were. Good job getting the face in there. Nice side light angle on the cactus. If you have Photoshop there is a feature that you can apply to try and give the face a simiar lighting angle that might be fun to try out with this image some time. The prickly pear fruit is not quite ripe in this depiction but getting there. :)
Birds were my main competition for the prickly pear fruit. I did spend most midday timeframes hiding from the sun. Mostly I used palo verde trees for shade. Did not sleep during the day (Or sleep much at night either for that matter). I had a long sleaved shirt that prevented me getting sunburned; the shirt even had a collar to protect neck and ears. I did, however, get to close to spiny cacti and got spines stuck in my rear end on a number of occasions. Believe me, it is a chore getting them out, but would have made a hilarious video. LOL! - Steve

I have one of these lenses which I bought whilst on my hols, when I got it home it didn't work on af. I have a canon 20D, and wondered if you know if it should work, or if I have to claim on the international warrenty...comments please
