Crane, 2nd tryby sfaliceComment by Germaine: Great eye to see all that! Thanks for sharing your technique. I think I use a similar technique with a fair number of b&w conversions. I usually just work with levels and curves, but I will do my first levels and curves as normal, flatten the image, and then go back and do a second curve fooling around and exaggerating the channels as if I was "cross processing". When I have what I want, I flatten again, and then go into b&w. |

poppy and beesby sfaliceComment by codfish: Of the two versions I prefer this one. The focus is squarely on the poppy here where as my eye wandered to the buds on the other version. |

Crane, 2nd tryby sfaliceComment by carofo: A lot better than A, I agree but what a tough PP job to bring back details in such a shot. It's a great subject and - call me lazy if you want - I'd just go back on an overcast day to shoot this against a white sky. That being said, if you had not posted the whole story, I would not have known, so I guess youc an say you did a good job! |

poppy and beesby sfaliceComment by carofo: OOOHHH! Soooo very nice! I love the silky look of the petals and the "glowing" heart. I prefer this crop to the other one but I would have cloned out/cropped in tighter on the left to get rid of the stalk we see there. The rest is just magical. I love poppies! |

poppy and beesby sfaliceComment by Alicia: The vibrancy is amazing, even though it's black and white - or maybe because it is... In any case, it's wonderful. |

Sunflowersby sfaliceComment by imagesbytlp: I really do like this...very impressionistic. I think I would have preferred a vase in a different color or clear...just because the green in the vaseb is not complimentary to the green in the flower stalks. Well done. |
