Fragment blues.jpgby sfaliceComment by docpjv: I love it! Immediately, in my mind, I saw the use of this as practice for playing with light in photography. I see this as a multiple exposure with a lone horse rider or, to emphasize the sheer value of this, with a oriental peasant face or two people in love. Wonderful reminder to sometimes just play, and learn, and enjoy again our art of creating images that are in each sense, timeless. |

"it's all about the color" by curtpetguy - remakeby sfaliceComment by Cory: It's blurry. And the colors don't match up. :( And the masking is pretty rough.
Sorry, but it's just not where it needed to be. It's not terrible overall, in fact, the initial impact is pretty good, but with Expert Editing rules at your disposal, I expect a little more than this. |

I like the pop of colors of the red and the yellow. There is some details in the flower petals but overall the image is soft in focus where it could have been sharper and crisp. The other critique I have is that the lighting is rather flat. The contrast between light and shadows is not dynamic where it would pop off the page. One might be able to use PP with Levels and Curves to increase that dynamic range but it might be better to have better, balanced lighting on the subject first. |

IMG_1468-row-houses-changed-800by sfaliceComment by pixelpig: Here's what I think: sometimes the photo we think we're taking, of the thing we think is there, is not what's really there. Sometimes a lot of PP is required to reveal the thing that's really there, or also there (who knows?). This PP gives me the idea that maybe those row houses are haunted. IMO the effort of PP was worth it, there's a lot of interesting energy in this one. The color adds to this feeling. Instant fav! |
