World's Worst Chameleonby VenserComment by littlemav: I actuall really like this shot, the only thing I could say is I would like it better if the top row of doors were cropped out, ... nit picking but only thing I could say besides LIKE IT |

World's Worst Chameleonby VenserComment by markwiley: I really liked this shot. I gave it a 7. I thought it was well composed and a fascinating backdrop. Right or wrong, a different title might have helped your score -- although I have no ideas for a better one. |

Who Invited The Black Guy?by VenserComment by levyj413: Good concept, good composition. Doesn't really grab me, though. Probably would with more contrast and having the lighting be brighter on the black head. I also think it'd work better with the black head sharper than the rest; while I'm not normally distracted by minor stuff, the sharp ones on the left do pull my eye over there.
I also struggled a bit with the title, but decided it was a wry commentary on racists, not an offensive title in itself.
In a free study, I probably would've voted this a 4, which for me means "nice try, some quality problems and not grabbing me." But in this challenge in particular, where people seemed to struggle to both have a solid concept and execute it, I'm voting it a 6. |

There's Room For Anotherby VenserComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Superb street performance image. Nailed focus, good action, great eye contact, balanced composition, excellent toning and great isolation of your subject.
Critical stuff: I'd perhaps shave a little of the right side.
Overall: A very engaging image. |
