I think the lighting here is absolutely brilliant. I particularly love the way that the face darkens from left to right and leads into the negative space.

Just the background on this one. Maybe black and white because of it. Now get out there and edit this one right for this is a great emotional photograph and you can darken that background with PS and keep it in color. I like it.
