Is this some sort of hoist mechanism on a fishing boat? For a long-net or something? I think a shot of the boat's big old diesel power plant would have conveyed the "machine" message more effectively.

Although this doesn't say "pink floyd" to me, I think it is an interesting shot, just the same. Looks like it may have been a tad over-shapened around a couple of the birds.
