Haha I love that you've captured this moment, I laugh out loud every time I see my cat doing this! Shame about the focus but otherwise I like it

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Reminds me of the Saw franchise of movies - like the wielder of the hammer has to bludgeon someone to death in order to retrieve something from their body which is supposed to set them free. Up in the air over the comp, I am trying to figure out if the image would have been strengthened by the whole hammer being in the frame. Have to agree that the pp is a little heavy, it's overwhelming the image. The settings are a little puzzling, I would have tried to shoot faster - 1/6 is awfully slow for a shot like this. I think you would been fine at ISO 400 - 640; I feel that the original image was much darker than this due to a low ISO and so the pp is to draw out details. Keep in mind that you can get noise at ISO 100, you still need to get the exposure right. As a final nitpick I would have tried to keep what is visible of the hammer in focus, and let the arm/hand be just out of focus. It's obvious what they are and as we're meant to be *meeting* Mr Hammer, he really should take centre stage.

Keep up the good work, you can always try my suggestions out and see what transpires. You can never shoot too much!

Feel free to PM me,

Susan

Nice starburst. Places like this make me wonder about the people who were here - what were they like? Nice use of lighting and color.

Yikes. Brings new meaning to the term messy breakup. The gritty processing works (other than some haloing around the hammer handle).
