the pointby flahermaComment by sfalice: I gave this an eight because it is handsome and meets the challenge.
If you used one or more filters, you used them intelligently and with meaning.

the pointby flahermaComment by posthumous: I would have like a more subtle or blended application of the filter, but this still merited a 6 from me |

snow dayby flahermaComment by wbanning: Agreeing with the previous comment. It's a slow, rewarding reveal after the first glance at this photo. I'm wondering if the eye starting at the top and eventually finding the sheep at the lower right is enhanced by the way the image loads from the top down. I wish I could see this for the first time again - without a slow screen refresh. I'm curious if the eye would find the sheep faster. Regardless, it's a very engaging image. |

"The Buck Stops Here" Harry S. Truman by flahermaComment by flaherma: Originally posted by primabarbara: Congrats on the ribbon!
This is really a perfect moment frozen in your picture. I guess in your situation I would have messed up and the shot would have been the wrong exposure and all blurry or somewhat like that...
Did you consider cropping on the top and the right to get rid of the wire mesh fence? |
Hi Barbara, thanks for the comment. Actually, it's a good thing this was shot in RAW because the deer was somewhat underexposed (the path was wet and the light was reflecting off of it so it was bright compared to the deer) so I had to do some adjusting to bring out the detail on the deer. As far as cropping the fence, this is a crop but I chose to leave the fence in because of the title, I wanted to reinforce the idea of him seeming to being stopped. |
