Wonderful composition, the dead (?) tree is well in focus and I like the softness of the background. :-) Although I like solid borders a much, this one is too distracting for me: it's too wide for my taste. Maybe the third would be fine.

Superb subject. Like the crop too, and good call on both b/w and the frame (I usually don't like the frames so thick but this is very tasteful). I give it a 8, but I would give it a 9 if there weren't a slight oversharpening evident on the foreground tree (you can see it on the lower right side of the tree, the white line). Great job!
