Simplicity B&W Versionby cbellerComment by vadvirag: Wonderful in B&W. :-) Now that I can compare the 2 photos, I think I have to rethink my comment on the original. :-) The blue skirt helped to balance the distractness of the lean-to (fence?) in the foreground. Both versions are great otherwise. :-) |

The Transitionby cbellerComment by brownt: A good stong picture here. Can't make my mind up if I like the 'shadow' behind like you have it, or would it maybe have been better with him looking over the body??
It's good in B&W, even the crop, which for any other shot I would have said was too much, here it works well.
A good, well executed shot. 10 |

Ovationby cbellerComment by LindaLee: Though the subject doesn't "grab" my attention, the photo is very nicely done. Very effective lighting. |

Ovationby cbellerComment by HRoxas: Nice photo, great colors. I like the clarity of the main subject. The source of light made the right portion of the photo hazy causing a little bit of distraction. |

Ovationby cbellerComment by jrs915: nice, but the wood seems to have a bit too much reflection on the right in my opinion |

Blue Glassby cbellerComment by TooCool: From the Critque Club
Things I like: I love the blue tone of the glass. I also like the way the bottom (stem?) of the glass glows also. You used the rule of thirds nicely with the bonus of good negative space also.
Things I don't like: This shot looks like it's too soft focus. I'm reasonably sure that it's because the glass is frosted giving off a glow. The stem portion of the glass does look in focus, but it's very hard to see. It needs more light either from within or externally. I like what you CAN see of it, but it's more of a distraction because it's hardly visible. I find myself trying to figure out the exact shape rather than enjoying the overall affect.
Good concept. Keep trying with this (if it's not too frustrating.) If you figure out how to get a great one I'd like to see it and how you did it!
