seems a bit too much like a snapshot for a challenge. The strong highlight on the crayons face takes away from one of the main features of the picture.

The photo itself seems like a snapshot that was taken somewhat closeup. The flash is creating the typical drowned out features on the forehead, and high reflection in the beard hairs. And to obtain the perspective it looks like simply a photoshop plugin was used.

To eliminate some of the flash problems try using a piece of tissue paper over the actual flash itself, it will soften the intensity.
