flaming moe/homerby GilesComment by giantmike: +1 for the reference.
However, the blue cast is a bit distracting to me. Eliminating the blues may have made this more clean. |

flaming moe/homerby GilesComment by EL-ROI: I know this is straight up and down because I used the side of the browser window to check the stem for straightness, but somehow there is an optical illusion that this glass is leaning leftward. (Perhaps it is off by a tenth of a degree or so.) The reference to older pop culture is funny but may be lost by most international viewers. |

THE NEW DRESSby GilesComment by Skip: One of my favorite type of newspaper assignments is to capture "wild art", which is defined as "Stand-Alone, Feature Shot, Enterprise art are found moments that are intended to be realistic slices of everyday life" (definition taken from this glossary). These are typically images that caption themselves, not needing a lot of words to get their point across. For this challenge, I'm scoring images as whether I'd like to see them on the front page of a paper as feel good wild art. If I don't think they would make the paper, I'm then asking myself, "does it make me feel good?" If it doesn't do much for me, well then, oh well...
This is a lovely image, and I'm sure she'll love it, but it's not moving my "feel good" needle. |

DAMBUSTERSby GilesComment by Giles: It's derwent dam in the peak district where they practiced for the dan busters raid, that's me the little dot, works much better in high resolution. |

DAMBUSTERSby GilesComment by Kathy: It's such a lovely image, but What? Where? (so frustrating not to know what I'm seeing in photographs.) : > {{{{ |

The Ugly Duckling by GilesComment by sulamk: Not as good as the one in the may photo plus magazine. Focus is too soft and some blown highlights . Nice composition though! |
