It's in focus and exposed ok, the model my ex Gf is pretty enough?
I do like fighting these up hill battles hehe, back in the day this would have gone down a lot better on dpc when there were more professional photographers and less soccer mums ;) |
no it wouldn't !the pose is too awkward and unatural and the cast is off putting! Got nothing to do with it being a nude! |
Maybe you should go look at previous free studies from 4-10 years ago a lot more nudes then, hardly see any now. The last nude challenge was 2007 If I recall correctly so you can't tell me they receive the same voting they did then.
This scored highly on 500px, I liked the pose as it wasn't a cliched seen a 1000s times before pose, trying something different.

vickiby GilesComment by RyanW: The shoes make the shot for me.
It's so often that you'd see a picture like this either cropped part way up or playing up the natural bare foot... the shoes add a fun element to it.
The model seems willing enough to do the shoot (proof is in the picture), but the body language (head turned away and down with eyes looking even further away), shoulders looking tense, arm posture of 'open but not inviting' and the blue lighting just add together in a way that make this image seem less fun and more work.
A smile in the corner of the mouth, a furtive glance, biting the lower lip or a finger, warmer lighting, or a more vertical/forward posture could have added some 'stay a while' factor to this image and some points to your score (i think).
I do think it's very well done and i'm a bit envious of your having a model willing to do these types of shoots, and if i had voted i'd have likely given it a 7, but with some of the other elements it would've been an 8 or 9 easily. |

vickiby GilesComment by HarveyG: Agreed.
It would seem that a certain voting rule has been broken at least 19 times...
I liked the shot barring the blue caste, odd pose and all.
Perhaps I'm being a soccer mom about that but at least it was a 6, 7 with a more natural skin tone. |
