Chinatown Under the Snowby OzComment by CNovack: Voted earlier coming back to comment.
B&W tones are great. Interesting street capture of the everyday with something a little extraordinary - the snow. While this is a good street photography shot it needs that extra something to make it more compelling for the viewer to stop and linger awhile to take in the scene. I am finding it difficult to find an element that is the main subject of the shot. If the woman by the flowers was holding one up and inspecting it - that action would be different from the rest of the scene thus drawing our eye into her and her actions being the main subject of the composition. |

Looking Overby OzComment by Oz: Originally posted by nam: Not sure what tvsometime means by the cloned version - maybe I didn't look closely enough, but they look like the same image to me only one in bw. I do think you lost a lot of detail on the right cheek and upper lip and esp on the nose in the conversion. I would re-do the conversion but keep an eye on those areas so you can erase whatever effects cause that blown-out look. I like the overall image a lot - great focus and expression on the main subject. |
I had shown him a version where the hand was cloned out (same TPL team).. I'll try a conversion where I don't lose as much detail-- thanks for the critique

Looking through the Windowby OzComment by nam: Very cool. The reflections almost make it look as if you caught this man in a passing diner train window. Or maybe as if you were just passing by . . . |
