"L" for Lightby P-A-U-LComment by Kroburg: Such a beautiful image with great textures and colours. Can't believe it didn't do better in this challenge (I voted 8, one of my top 5). |

"L" for Lightby P-A-U-LComment by Bear_Music: Bumping. I appreciate this more on second pass. A lot more... There's an utterly dispassionate clarity to it that appeals, and an in-your-face conflation of symbol and object that workd very well conceptually. |

Twelveby P-A-U-LComment by P-A-U-L: Originally posted by pamb: Goodness. I seriously thought this would finish much much higher. You were ripped. :(
Terrific shot, love the movement, the colour and the fact that you got the dice sharp too. |
Thanks pamb - perhaps people thought it was smoke and not motion blur or perhaps the competition was just too good. There was no smoke involved of course - just a couple of dice in my kitchen on some black card with a small torch as a light source and a second curtain flash (I think that is what it was called - it was first time I had used this so the challenge was excellent for teaching me a new trick)
I had wanted to do this with white dice but the only dice I could find in the house were red semi-transparent dice so had to make do. Message edited by author 2013-03-04 02:36:15. |

Exposed to the elementsby P-A-U-LComment by EL-ROI: I like the line of trees and the extreme light and dark tones. I am not too fond of the yellowish toning on this, as it doesn't shout out the coldness of the elements exposed to. (Since yellow is a warm tone.) |

Symmetry in the Cemeteryby P-A-U-LComment by pixelpig: The camera angle makes a strong contribution to the fascinating charm of this comp. I've never before seen a man-made structure haunted by a tree. What an idea. The clear light & sharp focus add a quirky touch of reality to this hyper-real shot. Good work. |
