What Lurks in the Shadows...by DenielleComment by CNovack: Finally had some time to sit - saw the thread earlier coming back to comment now. Congrats on a top twenty finish and new PB! Pretty soon you will be hitting the six's:-) I wanted to comment that your processing from the original in the forum thread was well done. The shadows and highlights and processing really play up the threatening feel from that glaring look. I do have two suggestions that might help make the composition even stronger. Before applying the processing you could try making your lips a blood red color and then see what it looks like when you apply all your processing. I think it could look more menacing if she appears that she has blood on the lips making it seem that she is staring at us because we are her next prey. The other suggestion is a small one that has to do with crop. I think that there is just a wee bit too much empty space on the left side. I think cropping off 1/6 off on the left would leave enough 'shadows' for the main subject to emerge from while keeping the focus strongly on the main subject. |

Winter Wonderland Outside My Windowby DenielleComment by Art Roflmao: I think all you needed to do was include the window frame in the shot and that would have bumped this up quite a bit. Nice scene, though.
eta: oh just saw that you were going for the brown, so nevermind and CONGRATS! :) Message edited by author 2012-11-09 02:47:04. |

Winter Wonderland Outside My Windowby DenielleComment by nam: Not much except the title to convince us this belongs in a Windows challenge - and it's way too early for this kind of weather!! Early and late snows are the prettiest, though, aren't they? Voted earlier. |
