Does this fit the challenge? I think your score will suffer from the lack of obvious serendipity in this shot. Apart from that, it is good. The dark wisps of cloud in the top-right clash with the sky a bit.

Interesting sunset, but I think you were wrong to break the rule of thirds here. Was there a reason why you put the horizon and water so low down in the frame? And the sun is too near the edge of the frame. Therefore, any points of focus are difficult to settle on as they are too near the edge of the frame. In Photoshop I think you could have played with levels and curves to make the boat stand out more from the water. The boat doesn't look too sharp, and it looks like your lens needed a clean judging by some marks in the water to the left of the boat. There are some nice colours in the sky, which might possibly have been enhanced by using Colour Balance in Photoshop.

Pretty good overall photo. The positioning of the boat and the sun make this shot.

The only thing that I would have maybe done (or tried to do) is get the boat where the top of it does not bleed into the shoreline - tried to get water between the top of the boat and the shoreline.

Mm yes... the sun sets everyday... while it's an ok shot... not really anything serendipitous about it. Just a plain ole sunset... Kinda... boring? Not trying to offend you, just giving my honest opinion :)

A beautiful image, with nice color. However as a silhouette (which is why we are all here :-) it's a shame you were not shooting from a higher plane so as to get the entire ship in silhouette separated from the background trees (?). Nice composition as well.
