I like the silhouette idea for this shot, makes the geometry really stand out. There is a bit of blurriness on the left and right sides in the center that distracted me a bit. I kept trying to decide if it was just windy or if this was an effect you planned/wanted. (But the blur took away a bit from my enjoyment of this image.)

I found this fascinating, and I love the colors and composition (I was one of your 7's). Many of us try to capture a shot that pleases the masses. Sometimes we have to be happy the image connects with a few. Hey, you caught ubique's eye -- in my book I'd call that a success. It's a cool shot -- nice job.

Just my 2 cents...
I think it didn't get too much points because the sky was the main subject, maybe another angle showing more water (and still some sky) would have workked better. Even the platform could be removed for strength and simplicity.
I don't think cropping would help because people wouldn't understand the nice lighting in the water.
