Composition is inspired, beautiful, clever. The result is quite dramatic. I wonder whether the strong white reflection in the shell unnecessarily draws our eyes from the subject; and whether it could be cropped out without ruining the spacial strengths of the photo.

I hold Minimalism to refer to a single point of focus, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be looking at the tree, the airplane, or the dark speck (insect?) here. Also, the water is surreally oversaturated, reminding me more of toilet bowl cleaner than ocean. The tree and waves are also somewhat fuzzy.

If this had been just the dark tree (sharper) against the lighter sky, with a deep blue (but not oversaturated) ocean, I think it would have been a much nicer shot.
